Bridge 103A

Matthew Pell

Bridge 103A is an audio-visual work that reflects upon the relationship between urban topography and the natural landscape. The film's imagery captures the juxtaposition of a vernacular bridge and nature. The audio applies a soundscape ecology approach to explore the geophony, biophony and anthrophony within the space.

The linear spatial narrative, humming traffic noise and flowing water, combine to question the impact of both 19th and 20th Century commerce on the landscape and the pace of contemporary life.
